Visiting the beehives

It's been a while since I was last here, visiting the beehives. Each time I make my way to this place in summer, as much as I love it, I fight my urge to run away, even though I know the bees won't harm me. Still, the cheerful hives are a sight to see and I like just visiting here. This time of the year, obiously, the swarms are sound asleep and there's no risk of being bitten or stung, however small it may be when the bees are working during the warmer days. I was craving some colour in my life and since we've seen the last of autumn leaves and are left with gloomy days of early December, this place was calling out to me, a siren song, if you will, because I wasn't actually planning on shooting in this precise spot --I just remembered it was there once we stumbled upon it on our way to some other destination. Is this what you call serendipity?

I'm wearing a backpack c/o LeaflingBags, a skirt I made from self-drafted pattern, sweater, old jacket and beret, oxfords, scarf I made from a piece of wool fabric.

This outfit felt so good and right as somehow I feel like wearing simpler pieces becomes me better nowadays. I made this skirt earlier this year and was glad to see that it still fits me! The crop sweater is a newer buy and it's just so versatile when I'm looking to wear an extra layer with my high-waisted skirts or dresses and don't want to compromise the nip in the waist area. I like form fitting short sweaters like this one a lot! I don't need any unnecessary bulging around my hips courtesy of longer jumpers, thank you!

Still, even though the premise of this outfit is very simple, I couldn't help but add just a tiny bit of quirkiness --this time in the form of my lovely backpack with the leaf motif which is so fitting for my forever forest-loving character. The bag comes from Leafling Bags, an etsy store whose lovely owner, Gabriella, makes the bags in Hungary! Lovely artisanal piece made with great attention to detail and what a lovely design! Perfect last-minute gift idea for any adventure lover. The bag is made of cordura and so it's waterproof! Inside you'll find a nice compartment to fit your wallet, keys and other needed things. We actually carried our camera and an extra lens in it to the shoot.

Gabriella shared a coupon code LEAFFASHION with me and you can use it for €10 off when you spend €60 on www.leaflingbags.etsy.com.
