Life update: Engaged to be married

So it happened one humid August night. I was back from a midnight run, had just taken a cold shower to wash off the heat and laid in our bed to take a breath, when Bartek came to sit by me, dressed up in a shirt and a suit jacket, an admirable feat considering the overwhelming heat, and he proposed. It was such a natural thing, a funny thing even, just another activity in a day. Simple and easy going like our lives together. I never thought living with someone could be easy but Bartek persistently proves me wrong --something that keeps on surprising me and I love experiencing it time and again.

We are now engaged which sounds both serious and pretty amusing to me, a woman who never wanted to get married. In case you were wondering, the wedding date is not set, and won't be for a while as we're in no rush. It will probably happen just like the proposal did and like all the other things we do: just like that, it will organically roll into our daily life.

Btw., the ring is vintage art deco from the 1930s. I felt it was important to me to have a ring that would be either vintage or artisan made, or sustainable anyway. We pretty much picked it together on Etsy. Bartek kept sending me links to different rings, and I would ooh and aah more about some than the others. He did the final picking, though, and it's just so lovely. You can't see it in the photo but the 'target' design sits atop a crown-like layer of lace.

We took these photos with the help of a tripod and a self timer and while it was super fun to shoot, we feel like we'd like to have someone else do it for us for serious some other time. If you have any good recommendations, please feel free to let us know (Poland based, though!).
